Hope you have all been having a great summer, despite the variable weather! I have been busy, not so much with taking new images, but in considering new and exciting ways of using some of the ones I already have…..watch this space!!
For your diary…..
Coming up very soon is the annual Photography Exhibition of the Viewfinder Photographic Society (VPS), of which I have been a member for a number of years now.
You may have already noticed some new images on the Home Page, but more images on the theme of surfing are there to peruse in my new 'Surfing' gallery (click here).
Having recently spent 3 weeks in North Cornwall, I managed to collect a fistful of new images of the sea, waves, and surfing…a longstanding passion of mine! I still remember being totally hooked on all the trappings of surfing lifestyle in the late 60s and early 70s, when surfing beaches were awash (!) with VW camper vans, often vibrantly decorated with flower power images, and surf boards aloft!! Unfortunately, such remnants of that era are hard to find now. However, the spectacle of surfers and bodyboarders taking on the big waves remains just as exciting and romantic as it ever did!
Wintry conditions can sometimes present us with unexpected opportunities and unusual vistas at the coast. In recent weeks I have had to travel up and down to Scarborough for work on a number of occasions. Needless to say I have kept my eye on the weather conditions and tides, with my camera close to hand.
